Oops, I've fallen in love...
I certainly didn't mean for it to happen, this was not my plan. Honestly, for years I thought that wedding photography was never for me. Having trained mainly as a product photographer I couldn't think of anything more outside of my expertise! but thanks to a colleague who coaxed me along to assist a wedding with her... I've fallen head over heels in love with weddings. Call it a very happy accident! It happened for many reasons, but my favourite is that even though many wedding days follow a similar format, every single one is unique!
And you are the reason why.
I've seen couples choose to do tequila shots together just before they make their vows, I've seen brides run themselves up the aisle after their parents have taken their seats. I've seen a BBQ reception on a cricket pavilion, an opt for 0 bridesmaids and brides giving speeches.
Each couple make a hundred and one different choices when planning their wedding, some of which are super important to them, and others that are less so. This is why I like to get to know my couples as much as I can before the big day. Understanding these choices helps me to focus on all the parts of your day that are most important to you.
This is me, I have a lot of hobbies. They include but are not limited to; roller-skating, baking, crochet, drawing, paper crafts, and being adventurous. My nature is warm, friendly, and a bit silly. If you catch me on a wedding shoot day I will have a permanent smile. In fact, one of the many reasons I love to photograph weddings is that they make my cheeks ache from the first shot during wedding prep all the way through to editing that last photo.
My shooting style is pretty quick when it comes to getting those posed shots, opting for action prompts more frequently than scripted poses and the rest of the time I like to blend into the background and grab those candid shots. If I could have any super power, it would have to be the ability to be in two places at once.
Until that day, I'll have to make do with a helping hand from a second photographer.
Having a second, fully trained, experienced photographer with us on the day is the best way to make sure your wedding is covered from every angle.
It allows us to capture the early morning preparations of both halves of your couple. As well as the view from both ends of the aisle. Finally, when I'm focusing the two of you, the second photographer is able to go and capture your guests enjoying themselves. A whole side of the day you'd never get to see other wise!
